Description
The circle closes in a full turn. Obrączka III is the third instalment of the ring motif from the studio of Kris Szczypiński, realised at a monumental scale – 180 x 180 x 180 cm. The form has the same height, width and depth, so from every side it reads as a consistent, closed outline with no clear beginning or end.
The sculpture is made from resin in three finish variants: graphite, silver and gold. Resin gives a saturated, deep colour at a relatively low weight for the form – gold and graphite build contrast, while silver reflects light along the curve of the ring.
At this scale, the form works in a garden or at a home’s entrance, where it becomes a point of reference for its surroundings. It is made in the Steel Stone Wood studio as an original or in a short series.
