Description
The head, back and legs of the dog are built from sharp, cut planes at a scale that goes far beyond the natural – instead of rounding off, the animal’s contour breaks at an angle. A figurative form translated entirely into the language of geometry.
The material is resin, available in silver-red, silver-green and gold-black. At 73 x 75 x 186 cm, the large resin planes carry the full depth of colour and shift it as the light in the room changes.
A scale this size sends the form to an entrance area or a representative space, somewhere the sculpture can be the first thing the eye meets. We make it in our studio near Częstochowa, Poland, as an original or a short series, by Kris Szczypiński.
