Pedestals

A pedestal for a sculpture, vase or exhibit – pedestals in wood, metal and marble. A stable sculpture base for gallery, museum and home.

Pedestals – the foundation of a good display

Even an outstanding sculpture loses when it stands at the wrong height. A pedestal places the work exactly where it should operate: in the line of sight. In our offer you will find pedestals in wood, metal and marble – made in the studio, in formats from low bases to tall columns.

A pedestal for a sculpture, vase and exhibit

A sculpture base must do two things at once: bear the weight and disappear from the foreground. That is why we design pedestals with simple, disciplined volumes that showcase the work, not themselves. They work under a sculpture, vase, cast or family keepsake.

Low, tall, horizontal – three formats to choose from

A low pedestal works discreetly – it lifts the sculpture only enough to separate it from the surface or floor, and suits smaller forms that already stand in close range. A tall pedestal, in the form of a column, places the work in an adult’s line of sight and creates distance, so the sculpture gains presence. The horizontal variant works where the exhibit is meant to be viewed from above or from the side – for example with longer forms or compositions. It is worth matching the type of pedestal together with the sculpture, not separately.

Pedestal material and sculpture material

Wood, metal and marble work differently with the sculpture they are meant to display. A metal pedestal pairs well with sculptures in stainless steel and Corten – the base material echoes the character of the work rather than contrasting with it. Marble, heavy and calm in texture, emphasises intensely coloured resin forms well – contrasting the coolness of stone with the warmth of colour. Wood works most neutrally and suits settings where attention should fall solely on the sculpture itself.

For galleries, museums and the home

Galleries and museums use our pedestals, but they work equally well in a living room or hall – anywhere you want to bring out detail and give an object presence. Types (low, tall, horizontal) are in the category filters. Need an unusual size? We will make a pedestal to order, matched to the work and the interior.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What materials are pedestals made from?
We make pedestals in wood, metal and marble, in formats from low bases to tall columns. We match the material to the sculpture’s form and the display location – so the base can bear the weight while not drawing attention away from the work. Every pedestal is handmade in our studio.
How do I match pedestal height to a sculpture?
The pedestal height should place the sculpture in the line of sight, so the work operates in the foreground, not the base. The exact match depends on the sculpture’s height and where it will stand – living room, hall or garden. If you are unsure, write to us with the sculpture and space dimensions and we will advise.
Can a pedestal be ordered to size?
Yes – if you need an unusual size, we will make a pedestal to order, matched to the specific work and interior. You choose the material – wood, metal or marble – as with the standard offer, and we set the proportions so the base works well with the sculpture it is meant to display.
What else are pedestals used for besides sculptures?
Pedestals work as a base not only under a sculpture, but also under a vase, cast or family keepsake. Their role is to bear the weight of the exhibit and at the same time disappear from the foreground, which is why we design them in simple, disciplined volumes. They are used by galleries and museums as well as private homes.
What types of pedestals are available?
In the offer you will find low, tall and horizontal pedestals, made in wood, metal or marble. Specific types and formats are in the shop category filters. If none of them suits your sculpture, we will make a pedestal to order, matched to the dimensions of the work.
